Tony's Army Wife - surviving my first deployment

It's snowing! What in the good grief is going on! This is spring... Where is the sun? Where's the lemonade? Where's the exhilarating smell of fresh cut grass? And I can't believe I'm saying this right now, but I want to hear the peepers! I'm so sick of being cold all the time, yet I know as soon as the warm weather starts rolling our way, I'll be complaining that it's too hot. There's never a happy medium. And I already know that work, in the ER, is going to be no fun this summer. Just as I knew at the begining of winter that it wouldn't be fun for that season either. The way it works:
Winter fills our emergency room with people who think that we can cure them of their flu. There are no antibiotics for the flu!! You have to wait it out! Instead, you all go to the ER, coughing all over us and spreading your germs. So when we get sick, if we don't call out of work... we get sent home. Because the hospital knows you all are going to complain about the staff coming to work sick. So instead, we all stay home to make you happy, and yet you still complain when there isn't enough staff. It's a vicious cycle throughout the winter.
The hot summer weather brings us all the idiots who don't know enough to drink plenty of fluids. Or should I say drink plenty of water!! If I had a dollar for every person that comes into the ER, in the summer, because they are dehydrated... I'd be rich. And if I had an extra dollar for every dehydrated person that tells us, "I drink plenty of fluids! I have 6 cups of coffee and 4 cans of Pepsi a day"... I'd be a millionaire. Coffee and soda does not hydrate you!! Caffeine is a diurectic! It makes you pee like crazy! Causing you lose electrolytes and all that other good stuff! And with the hot summer sun make you sweat like a filthy pig... you need water!! Stop wasting the fire departments time and ours! While they are driving your dehydrated ass to the hospital (which you could easily drive yourself) some poor soul out there is having a heart attack and truly needs that ambulance!
My second job, being a Whiskey Girl... I love it! I went to my first event, the Worcester Tattoo Expo, March 15th and 16th. It was a blast. And believe it or not, with as many tattoos as I have, it was the first tattoo expo I had ever been to. And there will be plenty more to follow. I met alot of people and saw a lot of crazy stuff! Here's a few pictures of me working it whiskey style!

I love what I do (as a Whiskey Girl and being an ER tech) but I didn't think it was going to make my life more hectic than it already has been. Oh, and not to mention being the merchandise girl for MindsetX. It's really a lot of fun, but it's stressful trying to schedule events and work around my schedule for the ER. And I feel really awful at work (in the ER) because I am asking so many favors from people to cover this day for me and swap that weekend with me, and then when they need a favor I can't help them because I already have events scheduled! I don't ever want to be that person who takes and takes and never gives back. And if I do have a day off from the ER it's usually a day that Tony has off as well and I don't want to do anything but spend time with him. But that time that I do get with him is usually staying in for the day and me spending time on the internet searching desperately for shoots. It's no wonder the poor guy seems down and depressed all the time. I'm hoping to God that this will all pay off in the end!
